Our Watch: This is Prevention featuring WDV’s Enabling Women Leadership Program
Primary prevention is about stopping gender-based violence before it starts.
In this powerful video from Australia’s leader in primary prevention Our Watch, WDV and the Enabling Women Leadership Program are celebrated for their outstanding work in the primary prevention of violence against women and gender diverse people with disabilities. WDV Women’s Empowerment Officer – Youth and Leadership Programs, Bridget Jolley highlights the ongoing impact of Enabling Women and why investing in disability-led programs continues to be vital for our community.
“We need to recognise and address that violence is an issue. When we are talking about prevention knowing that you have networks and that you have community is really important so that they can speak up or that they have a place to go.”
Our thanks to Our Watch for featuring WDV in this important series and to all our Enabling Women community who appeared in the video.

10 Years of the Enabling Women Program
WDV’s Enabling Women Leadership Program has been empowering women with disabilities since 2013. To celebrate this milestone, WDV’s Community Inclusion and Women’s Empowerment team held a special event at the Geelong Art Centre and there launched a 10 year celebration magazine and commemorative video.
